Do I need a decontamination service?

A full decontamination service is only of 3 tiers of service that we provide:

General Cleaning

Removes germs and dirt from surfaces using detergent-based solutions to clean surfaces. General cleaning does NOT kill germs but it will however temporarily lower their numbers.

Reduces the number of bacteria present by 99.9% but does nothing about viruses and fungus.

Sanitising is better than cleaning alone but in order to kill viruses and fungi, you need to disinfect.

Kills 99.9999% of bacteria and eliminates even the most deadly viruses including

HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Coronaviruses, bacterias such as MRSA and pseudomonas plus fungi, algae, yeast and mildew.

So, the answer is…it’s up to you! What do you want us to help you achieve? If your aim is to eradicate viruses from your premises, then you need a decontamination service and ULV Fogging is the best method.

The disinfecting solution we use kills viruses for up to 30 days.

What is ULV Fogging?

ULV stands for Ultra Low Volume; fogging refers to the process by which the decontamination chemicals are applied to all areas and surfaces in the premises.

The fogging machines we use are cold fogging devices. These use large volumes of air at low pressures to transform liquid into droplets that are then dispersed into the atmosphere. This dispersal method is more effective for you in two ways:

  • the solution used forms a fine mist that can remain on the disinfected surface for longer thereby increasing efficacy. ULV Fogging is the best method for virus eradication.
  • the mist can reach all spaces in a room, even those hard to reach areas which traditional cleaning methods may miss.

How effective is ULV Fogging?

The chemicals that we use have been thoroughly tested and are guaranteed to kill 99.9999% of all known bacteria and viruses.

The disinfecting solution we use kills viruses for up to 30 days.

How long will the decontamination service take?

We deal with each client on an individual basis simply because all premises are different. For example, a commercial kitchen may require more time for our technicians to prepare the room than it takes to prepare a school staff room. However, as a guide, the decontamination service for a 12ft by 12ft room takes around 30 minutes.

How long do I have to wait to re-enter the room after the decontamination service?

Not long! About an hour. We use evidence strips, placed at ceiling height, which confirm to us that the correct rate of fogging has been achieved and also when it is safe to re-enter the area. This is usually about 1 hour after the fogging process has been completed.

What do I need to do about the equipment and furnishings in the room?

ULV Fogging, because it is low moisture, is safe to use across a range of materials and finishes without causing damage. With respect to items such as electrical items or fire alarms, our technicians have undergone extensive training to ensure that these items are masked off or otherwise covered to ensure these items remain safe. This results in a faster, minimum fuss service for you.

How much does the decontamination service cost?

We deal with a wide variety of premises and we like to treat all of our customers individually. Once we have visited you and discussed your cleaning requirements, we will provide you with a quote. As ULV Fogging does not require rooms to be emptied, our customers usually find that ULV Fogging is a very cost effective method of decontamination.
